So here we are, at war with Hamas in Gaza, four days in and most likely ready to move to the ground invasion phase in a matter of a day or two. This post isn't about the normal one-sided stories from the world's media, or the constant lies coming out of both Gaza and Judea and Samaria.
No, I'm simply writing to express my continued amazement at our own stupidity.
Just today we sent into Gaza 200 semi-trailers of food, and 50,000 gallons of fuel......and this something we've been doing for years, and continue to do on a weekly basis.
Now couple that with the fact that we continue to supply them with their electricity, and their water, and you might get the idea where the title of this post came from.
Shutting off the power and drying up the water supply would end this in a matter of days, and not one Israeli soldier would need to die, as will certainly happen in a ground invasion.
Fucking Amazing.
I don't know who killed this Arab kid, but even if it was his own people (likely IMO), we are seeing a different reaction amongst us, one of ENOUGH! We have always attempted to be "different" than our neighbors, to show our "humanity".
This more recent reaction to the last atrocity perpetrated against us shows that we are finally getting it. We don't live in Switzerland, we live in the Middle East.
Ben Gurion once said that his hope was for us to be both a "light unto nations", and also a "nation like all others".
Sorry, but you can't be both.
What we are seeing is the rising tide of a conscious mood of "Jewish blood will no longer be cheap", and it's been a long time coming.
The world doesn't care for it much, as witnessed by the immediate and vociferous condemnation, without yet the facts, of this young Arab's murder, in stark contrast to the reaction of the kidnapping and murder of three Jewish teenagers......no, not teenagers, but the dehumanizing "settlers".
Yeah, the world likes its' Jews weak, and as victims. Strong Jews defending themselves makes the world very uncomfortable.
Arabs screaming for revenge? What else is new.
Jews clamoring for revenge? Not acceptable.
Tough. Times are changing.
